About

Pauline Anastasiou is a lecturer in Photography in the School of Art who works with the still and moving image. She completed her PhD in 2019.

Her research investigates how she as an image-maker might engage with and contribute to social issues such as the politics of migration through the theoretical framework of Affect.

As part of this research, she is making bodies of work that explore the ways in which the notion of affect might be used as a prompt to encourage empathic connections.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Education from La Trobe University, and Honours Degree in Arts (Photography) and a Master of Arts by research, RMIT
